Pinsent Masons LLP

Pinsent Masons’ infrastructure team numbers more than 500 lawyers and offers a full range of legal services for the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects. We’ve been involved in infrastructure PPP since the inception of PFI in the UK and have successfully applied this experience to other global markets. The firm advises public and private sector clients on all aspects of PPP projects, including complex project structures, standardisation of contracts, service performance, and operational issues. Pinsent Masons has experience in PPP projects in more than 30 jurisdictions around the world and has closed more than 350 PPP projects globally. We have a particular focus on energy transition projects and programmes, including smart city and strategic partner arrangements.

Our legal team has demonstrated exceptional performance and innovation in the past year, advising on some of the most complex and impactful PPP projects across the globe. Two key examples:

Advising Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) on the Dublin Metrolink project, providing comprehensive legal support across procurement, contracts, sustainability, and finance strategies for Ireland's largest civil engineering project, which includes a high-capacity metro system connecting key areas in Dublin. Our work also focuses on climate and sustainability, ensuring alignment with the EU Taxonomy, supporting sustainable financing, and meeting EU regulatory requirements for corporate sustainability reporting and due diligence.

Advising a consortium of major banks on the multibillion-dollar financing of NEOM residential communities, a significant public-private partnership project involving Islamic financing to develop housing and facilities for 10,000 people across five communities in Saudi Arabia.
