Bundoora Clinical Teaching

Australia

In 2022, La Trobe University selected Plenary as its preferred master development partner to help realise its $5 billion University City project, transforming its 235-hectare Bundoora campus.

The University City will reimagine the campus experience and include a dynamic research and innovation precinct, world-class sporting and sports research facilities, a major health and wellbeing hub, and exciting commercial, retail, and residential developments.

The Bundoora Clinical Teaching building represents a significant milestone in the partnership between La Trobe and Plenary, as the first project to be completed under the agreement. It will be delivered under a 30-year ground licence following completion of construction, with Plenary the project’s investor, financier, and developer.

Plenary provided 100% equity funding. Ongoing equity in our projects is fundamental for Plenary to create alignment with our project partners and realise long-term value.

The building will be an outstanding health facility for Melbourne’s north, reflecting La Trobe University’s commitment to patient-centric care and excellence in service, education, and sustainability.

Additionally, the facility will support clinical placement provision in key La Trobe programs targeted for significant growth under the university’s health portfolio innovation strategy, as well as other programs dependent on student placements where La Trobe currently offers student-led clinical services.

The design encompasses a 6,679 m² building over four levels, a dual entry reception on level one, and a mixture of multi-discipline consultation spaces across levels one and two. Levels three and four will house the psychology clinic and additional teaching spaces.
