Anthony Walker

Anthony has over 35 years of experience in surveying and project management. His career spans both public and private sectors, including a role as a senior civil servant with the Department for Education, where he led Europe's largest building surveying initiative to date: the Property Data Survey Programme.  


With more than two decades of extensive experience in PFI Projects, Anthony has served as a member of several local authority project teams, as a PFI Director for the Barnsley Group Schools project (which won the 2008 PPF award for Best Operational Education Project) and as a Project Director for the Department for Education, he collaborated with over 40 local authorities on Building Schools for the Future, delivering both D&B and PFI projects. Over the last 10 years, he has led survey teams conducting Lifecycle and Latent Defect surveys on PFI Assets.  He has a passion for industry innovation, and a focus on applying cutting-edge techniques to surveying and construction, aiming to enhance efficiency. 


He previously held the position of CEO of a mobile surveying software company.  He is committed to providing clients with detailed advice, enabling them to make evidence-based decisions that optimise investments. Currently, Anthony is deeply involved in exploring how technology can be leveraged to gather asset data for PFI assets as part of PFI Expiry and Handback  


A Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers, Anthony frequently shares his expertise as a conference speaker and author of articles on PFI, Surveying, Fire Safety, and Technology.
